• Forms load slowly, poor performance

Resolution

• There are many factors involved in performance, such as CPU speed and utilization, network speed, form design and complexity, server configuration (everything on 1 server, database separate, ...), logging, IIS configuration, etc.

• Something that is often overlooked when tuning e-Work is the effect that virus scanners can have on performance. Here are some things to try that may help depending on your environment and the particular product that is being used:

  1. Stop the virus scanning service. There may be a difference between disabling it from the system tray and stopping the service(s) through the Control Panel.
  2. Scan inbound files but not outbound files.
  3. Scan program files vs. all files, etc.
