Cannot Enable Event Logging to File for Process Engine

Issue

• When using the System Administrator to enable event logging to a file, a user receives the following error:

  Failed to create key\\nError Code: 5.

Resolution

• Make sure the user has permission to modify the registry key on the machine hosting the Process Engine.

  1. Go to Start --> Run and open regedit.

  2. Right-click on the registry key HKEY\_LOCAL\_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Metastorm\\e-work\\Engine.

  3. Select Permissions... and click on the user name or a group to which the user belongs.

  4. Allow Full Control and select OK.
