Browser Settings When Using Public Access (Enterprise Initiator)

Issue

• When trying to access a blank form through public access using e-Work 5.4, or version 6.x with the classic interface, (e.g. a URL like http://255.255.255.255/scripts/eweb.dll/eworkblankform?map=MyMap), the user is presented with a blank (white) web page or an e-Work login screen. Other errors may also be encountered.

Resolution

• There are several browser settings that must be considered when the classic (v.5) interface is used:

  1. Pop-up blocking, at least for the website being accessed, must be disabled.
  2. Cookies must be enabled. The Privacy setting in Internet Explorer must be set to Medium High or less (not to High or Block All Cookies).
  3. The browser must have the Microsoft Java Virtual Machine (MS JVM) installed.
