Drop-down Column in Grid Prevents Form From Opening

Issue

• A form contains a drop-down column in an editable grid. If the drop-down options are hard-coded, the form fails to open. No error message or one of the following messages may be generated:

  Pop-up errors:
  Unterminated string constant
  Object expected

  Pop-up error: Failed to invoke action
  Designer log: Conversion from text to date failed: Type mismatch.. Position: 10

Resolution

• This has been fixed in SR1 for Metastorm BPM version 7.5.

• There are 2 workarounds.

  1. Wrap each option in %Evaluate, e.g.

     %Evaluate("Red")
     %Evaluate("Puce")
     %Evaluate("Green")

  2. Use a formula to populate the drop-down, e.g.

     %GetData("DSN=CustomerData;UID=sa;PWD=pwd",Customers,"","CompanyName",%CHR(44),%CHR(44) )
     or
     %GetData(,eUser,"","eUserName",,%CHR(44))
