Issue
If a variable name in a mail merge document contains an underscore, the mail merge will fail. The following error message is written to the Windows application event log:
The print merge failed because there is a field in the merge document that is not defined in the merge data header.
Resolution
- This is due to the way Microsoft Word handles mail merges.
- Don't use underscores in variable names that are used in a mail merge.
