Issue
When the Migration Assistant is used to convert a procedure from version 7.x to version 9, the following popup error is displayed during the Convert files stage:
An unexpected error has occured.
Details:
Parameter is not valid.
When OK is clicked, the Migration Assistant closes, but no log file is created.
Resolution
This is a known issue.
This may be caused by certain icons (.ico files) used as images in the version 7.x procedure. If the .ico file is available, right-click on the file and select Preview. If the file fails to open, it will cause the migration to fail. If the file is not available, it can be retrieved from the procedure itself. Use a utility such as WinZip to open the .xep file. Extract the .ico files. If they fail to open using Preview, they must be removed from the version 7.x file (or converted to bitmaps if that is possible) prior to migration.
These icons that fail to migrate or fail to open will not import into a process using the version 9 Designer. Attempting to do so will result in an error similar to the following:
The file C:\\images\\test.ico does not have a valid image format
