Issue
- When trying to run a query in the Services Manager or System Administrator, the message 'Executing query' is displayed and the query never completes. The Windows Task Manager may indicate that the mmc.exe process is running with ~100% CPU usage.
Resolution
Try the following:
- Close the Services Manager and/or System Administrator.
- In the registry, go to HKEY\_CURRENT\_USER\\Software\\Metastorm\\e-work\\Console. Export this key to a file in case it needs to be restored.
- Delete the 'Console' key.
- Open the Services Manager and/or System Administrator and rerun the query.
If deleting the registry key as described above does not resolve the problem, uninstall and reinstall the Services Manager and System Administrator. To do this, go to Start --> Settings --> Control Panel --> Add or Remove Programs. Select 'Metastorm e-Work' and click 'Change'. Click 'Next' on the install screen and select 'Modify'. Under 'e-Work Administrative Tools', deselect 'e-Work Services Manager' and 'e-Work System Administrator' and continue. It may be necessary to reboot the machine.
