OD source and receiver connection

Hi,
I would like to know the process runs between OD source and receiver when source tries to establish the connection with receiver. If anyone can throw some inputs, will be helpful.
Also, is there any case any time, where receiver tries to make connection with source by its own?
I am asking this question, bcoz network guys got DNS trace from the rcvr trying to make connection with source. I am not sure whether it's due to OD.

That is a question you may want to forward to IWOV product management.

That being said, normal operation, the receiver should not be contacting the sender. Now if you have a reverse deployment defined it could.

I think it *could* also happen if it was a delayed ack of a previous deployment. I.e. you fanout to multiple levels, sender goes to rec A, which goes to B,C,D,E, etc. Once all the sub deployments are done, A would send back to the sender. I do not know if that would be a new connection or it holds onto the original.
