Inability to check ProVision back in.

I am using ProVision v6.1.4:90810. I am unable to check out a shared repository. I am performing the following steps:

Opening the shared repository and selecting the appropriate folder. I then right click on that folder and select “Check out”.
At the next pop up window, I add my User ID and Password, then select OK
At the Check Out Wizard – Step 1 of 4, I select the radial button for “All models in the notebook”. I uncheck the “Check out workflow model lane as read-only”. I then click Next.
At the Check Out Wizard – Step 2 of 4, I click Next.
At the Check Out Wizard – Step 3 of 4, I select the radial button so that the checked out objects are created in my personal notebook. I also name the notebook that will be created.
At the Check Out Wizard – Step 4 of 4, I select Finish. The Knowledge Exchange Server window pops up, as the objects are being checked out. While this window is open, I can see that the new notebook in my personal folder is present in the Repository menu.
The next window I would expect to see is “The objects were successfully checked out”. I see instead the Check Out Wizard – Step 4 of 4 appear again. The notebook I specified in my personal repository disappears from the Repository menu.
I then select Cancel at the newly opened Check Out Wizard – Step 4 of 4 window.
If I reopen to the Check Out Wizard – Step 1 of 4 and select a specific Object, it has a Current Status of being locked by me. I cannot check in my personal repository since it does not appear in the Repository menu. I do not have the option of selecting the folder in the shared repository and canceling the check out, either.

Hi Kevin,

Are you checking out from Knowledge Exchange or from a Teamwork repository?

If it's KE, can you try restarting your application service (Tomcat)? If it's a Teamwork Repository, you can release the locks from the Administration page (likewise, you can release the locks from the KE Admin page).

It is a Knowledge Exchange server that I am trying to check out. I am not as concerned with checking the server back in as I am with my inability to check it out properly in the first place. Any ideas on that would be appreciated.

Hi Kevin,

If the checkout failed at any point you should receive an error message. Did you get any popups stating a failure to check out?

One other thing you can check:

If you are using v6.1.4 or lower, login to the Admin Page. If you're using v6.2.0+ then login to Webvision.
Next, click on Status, then Service History.
Scroll down to the time period of your problematic checkout.

4. Look for completion of your checkout, or for any errors. If you see an error can you paste it here?

I've attached a screenshot of the message you should see upon completion of a checkout.

What finally worked for me was to delete my local repository and recrate it. The local repository is where I was checking out items to. It had something to do with how it got corrupted.

That worked, and I haven't had a problem since.

As an immediate workaround, can you try checking in as a new notebook?

The user has already saved it as a new notebook. I will ask them to delete the local repository as well to see if that works.

Hi Omar,

Can you create a ticket for this issue on the ProVision support page? You can access this by clicking on Support and then clicking "Metastorm ProVision Support Site". Once there, to create a ticket simply click "Submit Case" and fill in your details.
