Installing v7.6 SR3 on a Windows 7 64-bit laptop

Hi Everyone,

 

I am having a lot of issues trying to get 7.6 to work on my Windows 7 64 bit PC. I would like to get the Engine, Designer and Database working on the same environment similar to what I would normally do on a VM.

 

I understand only the engine and web server are supported for 64 bit?

 

I have got to the point of when accessing the 32 bit ODBC console to amend the DSN, changing it, and then re-opening the designer, the designer starts to reinstall the Metastorm software. From this point I can not even uninstall the software to reinstall.

 

I would be interested to know if anyone has got this setup working, or if anyone had any tips to get it working?

Hi Dai,

I have 7.6.3 setup in my Win 7 x64 environment. Had similar installations done on Win 2008 64 bit as well. It does have a few tricks, but it's definitely possible to have it all setup in the same environment.
I had to enable 32bit ASP.NET to get the webclient working, though.
Are you only having issues with the Designer?

I've also had the issue that I cannot uninstall - that's a real pain. I eventually got it wiped by using msizap. Once uninstalled, make sure you enable the necessary Windows Features (under Control Panel), such as support for CGI and ASP under IIS, before starting a new install.
