Internet Explorer: The webpage you are viewing is trying to close the window.

Good afternoon,

Our BPM users are not using the default metastorm web portal; instead, we give them external URLs to access their folders. Recently, it came to our attention that whenever they click an action on a folder that causes the folder to close (like an action that moves a folder to another user), they are getting an IE message box that says "The webpage you are viewing is trying to close the window. Do you want to close this window?"

Nothing I do prevents this; I believe it's something new in IE7 and IE8. Has anyone dealt with this before?

You can add a 'redirect' URL after the URL you are going to. I believe is is something like:

http://?ReturnUrl=

If you use window.open("your url") function from within javascript, you will not get the message when the window is closed.

Sorry, forgot to say, you do this as you OPEN the window (e.g. on the link), as it's how you open the window that determines whether you get the message on close. Have attached an example. (You can do it nicer by putting the javascript in a separate function, just wanted to keep it simple).
