How to Configure the Start Page in v9 Designer?

How do I configure the start page which comes up when I run the v9 designer? I don't want to have a browser window/pain and MetaStorm News inside of my designer when I start it. I looked thru all of the options (deployment, forms, etc.) a few times and I can't find the way to customize the start page!

You can find the actual web page on the development PC itdelf, and just modify it.

If you let the Designer connect to the internet it will just get replaced with whatever Metastorm deem best for you as far as I can tell, however. Possibly if you made the file read only it might not get replaced.

The file is in various locations. The best way to find them all is to search for it. The file on my W7 64b PC is here, for example:

C:/Program Files (x86)/Metastorm/BPM/Designer/Default Start Page/start_page01.html

I think the "01" implies that "02" will be created if you make "01" read-only, however.

The file is also stored in several other places, usual hidden app storage locations that the Designer seems to love filling. I am not sure which if any others need changing.

We have successfully replaced it with our own, but found that the list to the left was too handy to lose. We gave up after multiple installations, however, but often just cut all the 'community' page (sorry guys, but the Designer takes longe enough to load as it is without an added delay), and make the firewall stop the Designer going out to the Internet.

It is possible to customize the Start Page by editing the file "Metastorm.Ide.Browser.addin". Search for "http://community.metastorm.com" and replace the two instances with your own URL.

PLEASE NOTE - This is not technically "supported" in that we do not test modification of this string and any changes may be broken in subsequent versions. If you are interested in this being included more formallly, please feel free to add it to the Ideasarea and it will be evaluated based on customer demand and level of effort.
