Ajax on Interwoven Teamsite 6.5.0

Does Ajax works over Interwoven Teamsite 6.5.0?

I have a requirement to show a list of thumbnail images over GUI on selecting a drop-down value.Theidea is to, on drop-down value trigger a javascript function to call a perl subroutine which shall be called to traverse a specific folder and read properties file to fetch the list thumbnail images list .

But the problem is that Jscript cant request to server and fetch the response from server.thats why i need Ajax inside my functionality.

Any pointer for Ajax feasibility over Interwoven Teamsite 6.5.0 ?

FormAPI is still not compatible with AJAX. However, you can use inline commands to get out with some limited options in the drop down.
