Could not find stored procedure 'sys.sp_databases'

Trying to create a connection to SQL 2000 server. I can get to the SQLServer and userid and password validate but I get an error "Could not find stored procedure 'sys.sp_databases' when click on the database name dropdown.  (attached image 2.jpg)

 

I can find dbo.sp_databases on the SQL 2000 server master db but not sys.sp_databases. (attached image 2.jpg)

 

Any help would be appericated.
