The Metastorm BPM Client for Office integrates Metastorm BPM with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook as well as Microsoft SharePoint and SharePoint Libraries to allow users to fully participate in Metastorm BPM processes.

 

The Metastorm BPM Client for Office comprises:

• Metastorm BPM Client for Office support for Microsoft Office applications.
• Metastorm BPM Activator for Office.
• Metastorm BPM Web Parts for SharePoint.
• Metastorm BPM DMS Provider for SharePoint.

 

Release 3 introduces support for Microsoft Office 2010,  Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010, and Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010.

 

Release 3 introduces SharePoint Installer, a Windows application that provides a UI for a user-friendly installation and deployment of Metastorm BPM Web Parts. This replaces the use of a script using STSADM.EXE to install and deploy the solution.

 

Known Issues

 

The following tables list those issues remaining in Metastorm BPM Client for Office, of which we feel you should be most aware.

 

Metastorm BPM Client for Office and Activator for Office

DEF11574	Client for Office	An error like “Failed to execute 'start action' method SqlServerDatabaseConnector.updateAction,parameter 'actionname' is null or empty” is occasionally displayed on attempting to open a folder from the Office Client. Clicking the link a second time normally resolves the issue.
DEF11906	Client for Office	On some systems folders open in a maximized browser window.
DEF12081	Client for Office	After filtering Custom Lists in the Office Client, the user may see more pages than is actually necessary to display the number of records returned.
DEF12708	Client for Office	On some systems, Smart Tags cannot be turned on.
DEF13388	Client for Office	An error message is displayed during blank form processing if User Action does not have a form assigned.
DEF13534	Client for Office	Processes that are activated as Ribbon or Smart Tag or both are not displayed as selected in the Activated checkbox.

DEF11306	SharePoint Web Parts	Pressing the Apply button when modifying the Service Web Part causes the password to be set to empty. Workaround is to re-enter the password and click OK.
DEF13273	SharePoint Web Parts	All connected Web Parts get disconnected when only one of the Web Part is disconnected.
DEF13283	SharePoint Web Parts	Metastorm Service Web Part displays incorrect logged in time.
DEF13464	SharePoint Web Parts	When a Custom List has n pages, and a filtering is made on the nth page which returns 1 page, the Web Part grid becomes empty and shows the results only if page is refreshed.
DEF13278	SharePoint Web Parts	When hovering on a truncated column, no tool tip is displayed with truncated content.
DEF14458	SharePoint Web Parts	Clicking Edit menu item of Dashboard View Web Part causes an error to be displayed.
DEF14468	SharePoint Web Parts	Invalid Admin Form Name or Group Form Name specified for Dashboard View Web Part causes an error.
DEF14502	SharePoint Web Parts	Numeric values entered into Where/Order By clauses and columns properties cause errors.

DMS Support

DEF14734	DMS Support	User-friendly error message is not displayed when performing an incorrect operation using "Select".
DEF14734	DMS Support	Multiple attachment clip displays same file twice in the clip.
DEF14738	DMS Support	File name that contains Unicode characters is displayed incorrectly on the "File Download" window.
