Moving files from another server to Mediabin

Hi,
My requirement is to move thousands of file from another server to Mediabin server 4.5.Could you please tell me how we can use mediabin API's to programmatically move the files to mediabin server.

As the branching structure in Mediabin Server is going to be different from the earlier server , we can't just copy old the folder structure with files in Mediabin HotFolder. Is there any way through which we can configure Hot folder, so that different files will go to different folders depending on some rules like types of media files or files from a particular folder shd go to a specific folder.
