Emailtask Error

Hi,

I am trying to test emailtask in my workflow.

But now I got error:

Invalid workflow:
Error: Unrecognized element files in task Email_Author @line56
Error: 00001: Failure in operation.

Any ideas what that mean?

Replies will be appreciated.

I have not seen anything yet, but I need ot check a couple things.

In the XML you created, is there another files section ? What is on line 56 ?

When posting XML put it inside HTML tags like this (without the spaces) [ HTML ] [ /HTML ]

There is only one file i pre-selected, and line56 is empty line.

No, I don't have multiple tasks with the tags.

But I put the "if insert files" part in the external emailtask, i think this is wrong.
Then i moved "if insert files" paet to usertask which is author_work task, it gave me different error. Say: Unrecognized element files in task Author_work @ line 77.
So i think it still has a problem with the file.

I cut the lines, just let you know line77 is files tag.

Files tag was in the Email_author task before, and gave me error say on line 56.
Then i moved it to usertask, and error is line 77, which is always about file tag.

Let me try again after moving back to email_author task.

Perhaps its because you're putting the <files> tag in the wrong place?
The code you posted a while ago showed a <files>...</files> tag after a <variables>...</variables> tag - that's wrong - look at the iwhome/local/config/wft/iwwf.dtd for the actual ordering of sub-elements within task specifications

Why would that matter ?

Not that I am questioning you, I think you may be right, but the beauty of XML is that is *should* order independent. Any parser, or even regex should not care about which is first/second/third

I took a look to iwwf.dtd file, then follow the order of elements, then guess what? It's working.
Is Teamsite so sensitive about order???
It doesn't make sense to me.

But now i found the error from ts server said: unable to send notification: Invalid argument at .......Mailer.pm line 266.

What does that mean?
I even hardcode email address for 'to', 'from', 'cc', still got the same error. Also i check the sendemail.log file, it shows To and From but nothing about cc.

Put that into debug mode:

It's activated by putting this extra var. in your /etc/iw.cfg file:

debug_output=/var/adm/iwtrace.log

BTW, that is a fairly old email tool, I do not know many people using it. I use the iwhome/local/config/wft/solutions implementation for email
