VFE Config Question-Plz Help

How do we make VFE to produce XHTML instead of HTML4.0.1 , We currently on Temasite 6.7.1 SP1

do we do that by

setting publish="xhtml"
???????

This is one of those questions that you should be able to easily answer for yourself. Did you try that setting? If not - do so. Does it work? If not - check the manual again for other possible items that can be set with regard to XHTML - and try again.

Keep track of what you're using as source input, what you've tried in the config file, and what the results were. If you haven't managed to resolve it after making a concerted effort, post that information here and someone will likely be willing to spend a bit of time seeing if they can replicate your issue using your data / examples.

I'm not sure by "xhtml" whether you mean well-formed XHTML or, more strictly, XHTML that validates against one of the W3C XHTML schemas.

If you want well-formed XHTML, set publish="xhtml", as you suspected.

Yes, I tried that setting and still getting error regarding generating non complaint XHTML and I had one question it is complaing that is not valid according to XHTML??????.

I did try searching the manuals and could find nothing except setting publish="XHTML". Doug, I want to generate Well formed XML.

Is the problem solely with the contents in the VFE field - or in the output as generated by your PT that processed the DCR which contained the contents of the VFE field?

Only a few entity names are valid XML (e.g., &) unless a DTD is supplied. Most likely the config has charencode="entityname". It should be charencode="urf-8".

Just in case anyone is following this thread and isn't deeply familiar, "urf-8" is a typo. Should be "utf-8".
