Text Objects / Where Used

How do I easily find (with ProVision 6.2 SR4) where "Text Objects" are used?  I can, using Search or Translator Export, for example, get a list of "Text Objects" - but - without any indication as to which model contains the text. That is, "Where Used" does not seem to apply to "Text Objects".

 

I see that CIF Exports relate "Text Objects" to models; however, I want to avoid wading through XML or writing my own "Where Used" routine.

Hi Ric,

 

At this time, there is not a 'Where Used' function for Text drawings/objects.  As you stated, you would need to use the CIF Export to pull this information.  You could setup a custom object that fills the role of how you're using the Text objects, and thus have the 'Whered Used' functionality.

 

If you would like a 'Where Used' function for Text objects, you can submit an enhancement request.

 

In order to provide more visibility to other customers, we are now requesting all enhancement requests to be entered in the Metastorm Community Central website, under the Ideas link.  This will allow other customers to share their opinions on enhancement requests and will give our Developers and Product Management Team one location to look at all enhancements and work more closely with feedback provided by our customer base and employees.   To submit an enhancement request log in to your account on the Community Central website (http://communitycentral.metastorm.com/) and click on the green Ideas box.  From there click on the grey “New Idea” box to create your enhancement request.  Once posted, other customers and Metastorm employees will be able to comment or leave “Kudos” about your post and you will be able to view other enhancement requests and leave your comments if you feel it is a good enhancement as well.
