Bind Checkbox to Editable BO

I have an editable BO and I would like to bind the controls on one of my forms to this.  I'm not having any issues binding text fields, memos or numbers, but I can't seem to bind any checkboxes to the BO.  The database table (sql server 2005) has the checkbox columns set as smallint. 

 

Has anyone been able to get this to work?

This is a known issue, and has been requested.

 

For now we typically use a dropdown wiith a Yes/No label and 1/0 value:
