Error occurred during PT compiling.

Hey guys,

After applying SP1 I seem to be getting error occurred during PT compiling whenever I try to do a preview of a DCR. This seems to be global as iv'e get this error in different branches. Have you guys experience this error after upgrading from teamsite 6.7.1 to SP1 and how you guys resolve this issue. thanks

Do you have the new ptcompiler entry in the templating.cfg ? I do not.

Can you try running iwpt_compile by hand ?

When i compiled by hand using iwpt_compile.ipl it compiled fine showing output displaying contents and layout of file, tags,comments etc... Only few uninitialized errors at beginning of compiling which was there before, but this wouldn't prevent it from previewing content. Date modified by file is before SP1 upgrade and these files were tested ok before so this must be problem separate from these PT files.

Uninitialized errors could cause problems for preview if the errors are getting trapped in STDOUT before the browser window has been fully initialized (you should check the iwui/ logs for indication of something like "malformed headers" or some such)

I'll assume Windows given the direction you've made your slashes go.
Does NA show up under Y:\ on your server?
If you bring up a Command Prompt and cd to Y:\ - what happens when you type:

Y:\> dir NA\main\EuroPortal\WORKAREA\EU\templatedata\HR\list\presentation\list.tpl

(ignore the apparent space in the path ...\list\... above - it's an annoying aspect of the forum software - which hopefully one of these days will get fixed....maybe)

NA shows up under Y:\ on my server. It just shows this way in the log file. When compiling by hand using iw_compile.ipl to check .tpl files I put the entire path Y:\NA..\..\....

by wrapping it in [ html ] [ /html ]

Can you remove the xslt section ? I wonder if it is having trouble finding either the xsl_file or the DCR

docroot is the default for the file location, I assume the file is in the WA/xs/Generic_rss.xsl ?

You can try changing the mode to ptlocal and provide the direct path (without Y Smiley Happy

I took out the complete iwov_xslt tag portion of this file and I still get the same error. I'm sure this file is ok because I have tried other tpl files that doesn't reference the Generic_rss.xsl file. How do I change mode to ptlocal.

I was wondering if the file was not being found.

you can add mode="ptlocal" and change the path the "/na/main/....."

One other thing, open a windows explorer on the WA (do not use TS, use Windows) try a preview, do any files zz_tst_something get created ?

After doing preview no zz_tst file got created in \NA\main\EuroPortal\WORKAREA\EU\.

Check the user TSIMP_servername does it have write permission to the workarea in question ? How about your user ?

I assume no templates work on this branch, do you have other branches ? Do they work ?

Other workareas don't work also. I have permission i'm master on this system and it all works before my cooworker applied teamsite 6.7.1 SP1 and patch1 upgraded from teamsite 6.7.1 2 days ago.

I am having the same issue on 6.7.1SP1 on solaris 10(new install, but migrated backing store) this issue is only on this one branch (others have no issue) and I can manually generate (command line) the page just fine, just not via preview or generate.. did anyone come up with a fix for this?

Is this 671SP1 or 671SP1 + Patch 1?
There's a known issue with the latter (I believe just the latter, though perhaps it's there without the patch) which messes up with the manifest file - for which there is a "black patch" you can get from Support, and which is supposed to be fixed in 6.7.2 (rumored for release sometime in Q2).
