External pdf forms in BPM 7.6

I'm having a problem with using pdf forms that have been modified in Acrobat Adobe Pro 9.   When I try to use these forms as an external form, I'm getting the message

"Failed to read the external form.

  Cannot Parse the pdf form. Badly formed pdf.  Could not read cross reference table".

 

I can successfully use pdf forms that have been designed and/or modified in an earlier version of Acrobat.  But, when I take a pdf form from an earlier version of Acrobat, and just by adding a text filed and saving it in Acrobat Adbobe Pro 9, I get the above message.  I have tried to clean the historical stuff by saving the pdf off to another name, but that does not solve my problem.  Is there a fix in BPM 7.6?  Is BPM 7.6 up to working with Acrobat Adobe Pro 9?  thanks.

Given the age of 7.6 now, I'd say not.
