Metastorm Provision integration to adv Reporting Tools-??

Hi Everyone,

I am new to this community.

Does anyone has any experience in integrating a BI or Reporting tool (e.g. Cognos, BusinessObject etc) to Metastorm Provision??

I know we can extract the objects of a notebook into SQL database schema using Model Warehouse, but this doesn't fulfill my requirement as there are several notebooks from different department/Project.,.... I want to create different schema/Cube to provide business Insight to decision making.

If anyone has experience on Advance reporting capabilities on Provision, please share. Does Metastorm provide any plugins to connect to any BI tool?

Hi Puneet,

Not sure if this helps at all but I use the Warehouse extract and Crystal reports and it seems to work well with a single notebook. I have also used the built in Crystal report functionality from the client but find this fairly buggy when there are custom objects in the modelling language, and it is notebook specific so now I just use the warehouse.

I understand that you have multiple notebooks so could you not just create more reporting schemas and set up the extract to dump each notebook to a different schema?

Thanks for your email. Yes, we tried that solution for one of the department and I development multiple reports using Crystal report.

But in my current team - the requirement is different we want to build generic reports and distribute it to the end user and the end user should have the capability to run the report on a specific notebook extract (say his own project schema) or by default he has rights to his own (project) schema and reports run directly. This works perfectly on cognos domain but I need a means thru which we can extract multiple notebook into one datawarehouse or database with different schema eg HRschema, FinanceSchema, MgmtSchema..etc.

I am looking for technology to extract multiple CIF or any other XMl file to Cognos or BO or any other reporting Solutions.
