Hi All,

Just wanted to have a view from all of you experienced, enthusiastic and energetic people here on the below...

what is the basic purpose of Devnet forum?

Especially Ghoti , Nipper, ISCBorisB and other top contributors - if you would like to provide your view on this, that will be great feedback for me. Why would you help so many people with so many issues?

Everyone has their own opinions, however here are some of my thoughts.

I am an independent, so this is good advertising
If I don't help then others may not help if I have questions
a lot of these issues spurn thoughts and we learn from it
DevNet HOF actually does carry some weight (at GearUP
I am a geek and have nothing better to do
this sometimes is actually fun (see above)

Imagine a world with out Internet. Devnet is our Internet.

Some people play here
Some people just make some posts to make numbers as if that will fetch them a job.
Some people use it as a life boat
Some people like to test others.

I know what you are thinking now? Well here is the answer

I use it to learn more. Because with out this my knowledge will never improve on new technologies or new methods different people use. And it gives me immense happiness if i could help some one.

So you have posted this question, i bet lot of them who have read this post want to know why you use Devnet??? Does this cater to your purpose??

i would like to take this chance to say happy holidays to all of you. i also would like to say special thanks to Andy, ISCBoris, goti and other guys with much more experience than us ( new and poor guys ) for their help. i believe most of us learn a lot by reading other folks posts and replies to them.

Lilleywhite, Great post! Thanks! Actually, I understand, this is kind of a question with no exact answers.

What I think, I use Devnet is for getting inputs on Technically Complex issues, knowing how much I know, doing a comparative study of my skills, learning more about how pple are using TS and various solutions they adopt and of course I am going to use it for Advertising when I am an independent contractor.

Having said the above, it also serves to satisfy me at times as an Interwoven Consultant :-) Each post that helps someone solve an issue at his\ her end probably makes me feel better on my job :-)
