Best Practices for Multi-Lingual Processes
One great feature of Version 9 is the ability to quickly design processes spanning multiple locales using our unique multi-lingual process design capability. The Version 9 Designer provides a Translation Pane where strings can quickly be added for alternative languages. However, the best practices for most of our customers utilizing this feature is to send the solution to external specialists to handle localization. Version 9.1 adds a new Import/Export capability for languages to make this even easier.
From the Application menu, choose “Export Language Files” to export all translatable strings in the project for each language you have selected for the project.
The files are copied into sub-directories (one per language) and are exported using the .RESX format. This means you can easily edit these files using Visual Studio and many other 3rd party editors. To update your project with the edited strings, simply use “Import Language Files” to reverse the process.
We expect this will be very useful for those of you with multi-language requirements.
