DCR update

I have the following requirement for which I need to update dcr using a backend perl script. I ahve the following templating setup -
* Template 1 (Replicant structure for category and an inner replicant capturing category types)=>Produces DCR
* Template 2 (Gets the Category and types from Template1 DCR and creates the DCT)=>I've a Callserver getting the data and formapi code for creating the DCT. This DCR captures the type values and generates the page.

Now if there is any deletion in DCR produced by Template1, I want to update all the DCR's created by Template2 so that it's not invalidated.

What are the best ways of doing it. Currently I am working on a custom script using DCRnode which is getting complicated.
