iwaccessmigrate question

Whoever tried to run iwaccessmigrate - a question for you - how granular is it? I mean if I had different groups ownining different branches of the site - will it change the ownership on those accordingly or it simply create workarea group and assigns everything to that group?

Also, I have to migrate a very large store Solaris to Linux, so instead of running iwmigrate (it's simply impractical timewise), I am thinking to start with a clean store and move just workareas (using OD), doing iwmigrate later on and mounting the old store for archival purposes. So, anyone tried to run iwaccessmigrate on 6.5 box, creating just a manifest?

This may be a silly question - but did you read the documentation for iwmigrate in the CLT manual? I'm looking at the 6.7.1SP1 version of the CLT manual on page 30 - and it seems pretty explicit about what it does.

My experience with IWOV told me that usually there is more (or less) than the manual says.

actually, I have not got the 'sp1' CLT docs - even though I downloaded the latest pack (with 7 specific 6.7.1 docs). But in 6.7 docs on page 27 it says a lot, but does not answer my question, IMO.

ok, got the docs now. still, the same text as before. where does it explain what I have asked - as far as granularity of infividual directories is concerned?

The one time I used this I seem to recall that the roles of all users did not seem to get migrated the way we expected, and that I ended up writing scripts to parse the old conf/roles/*.uid files and use the iwaccess CLT to reset the user/role access information on vpaths.

I don't recall anything specific about file system access rights / permissions being changed from that one encounter a little over a year ago with 6.7.1 (no-SP)
