maintain a session in pages

Hi , I need to create a login page and then maintain the session afterwards .I mean that i should be able to see the successive pages only when i successfully login . But the problem is that when i login and reach start page it is fine till that point. Now when i click any link on start page the session is not maintained and i am redirected to the error page. I need to maintain the session so that i can browse the desired pages.Has anyone tried something like this before????

Yes, thousands of developers (literally) starting perhaps in early 90's. An example you may be familiar with is Interwoven Teamsite. That's exactly what IWOV
developers coded to grant secure shared access to their Web Application.

It sounds like an attempt to get into some existing Web Application system that maintains Sessions. Is that correct?

If it is, then upon successful authentication your "login" mechanism should have returned some incarnation of *Session Id*. You (your Client
Application) must then present it with every http request. How exactly it does that depends on what is expected by the System you are trying
to gain an access to. Most popular methods are Cookies and/or hidden Form entries.
