Is there any way from which I can get whether DCR is locked by other User I mean other than current user.

You can use clt iwfilestate to check if the file is locked or not. Also can check all files locked in a workarea by iwlistlock. Can combine iwlockinfo to get who has locked the file.

What you can do is update the value of an hidden field through your callServer and then check the value of that field.

Our business partner may not be happy or say no to hidden field. That has to happen through javascript only. Here I have to check whether a DCR is locked by someother user.

Your business partner won't be happy then. The javascript runs client-side, the tests you want to make are server-side - the supported way to achieve this is to do a callServer script which performs the tests you want and then sets some variable, some field, or otherwise calls back to a function defined on the client side.

callServer is tricky though, because it is asynchronous and requires that the calling function just sort of terminates and waits for something else to be kicked off from the server-side.

IMO it's one of the most difficult aspects of working with FormAPI - but it can be done.

If the issue is hidden the hidden field and not the PERL, then have callServer set the value of an empty variable in FormAPI with the name of the user that has the lock, then have PERL call a function in FormAPI to check if the variable has a value set to it.
