Hi All,

Thanks in advance. If we created a new file in TeamSite, which has search module already installed, will the new file created be auto indexed or should we do indexing again inorder to make the search take into the account the new file?

a) The branch where you've created your asset is indexed and
b) You have Search 2.1(*) or higher and
c) Evenet Subsystem is up and running and
d) You've accounted for the short latency period

then no, you do not have to do anything extra

Note that this is not always the case.

Depending on Search configuration (sample: event-based update off) and/or certain events (sample: restore)
re-indexing may be either desired or even required

Yes there was a FR to index on workarea content not just staging content and yes that was pretty recent, so 2.1 sounds right.

IIRC, there was a setting that you needed to change to turn on/off index of workarea content. I do not remember what the default was. Page 171 of the 6.7.1 SP1 admin manual is helpful, the search parameter is iw.index.wamodifications.enable

TS 6.5 has (used to have?) Search 1.0.0. I'm not even sure if you can cofugure Search 2.1 to work with it.

Yes you should. Please note though that in this case only assets that you've submitted to STAGING are indexed/searched

Properly configured, when you submit the indexer will run and pick up the changes, you should not need to index it manually. Regardless you will only be able to search for stuff that has been submitted to staging.

Little clarification: I certainly did not mean that you have to re-index a Branch every time you submit.
What I meant was that you have to keep event based update (it's a default) so that index is automatically updated whenever a file is submitted.
