Calling meta data form

Env info : TS 6.7.1 on Solaris 10
I have a requirement in which metadata like file creation date,language,filename etc., needs to be auto populated for assets at the time of Import operation. Can this is achievable?
My requireemnt is business user shouldn't get engaged in setting the above mentioned metadata values. It should be autopopulated based on the branch for ex: language metadata.
I am aware we can have a standalone script with necessary configs in metadata-rules.cfg and datacapture.cfg..
But need your advice on how we can call the script at the time of successful Import operation.
Apreciate your help on this.

CC URL 'import' does not provide any API to figure out what assets were imported. You may want to take a look at [thread=21903]this thread[/thread] for some ideas
