URL's in grids...

I had high hopes for this feature but so far I've found it somewhat flawed...

 

I was hoping to be able an admin form passing a folderId in the query string, however from what I have discovered so far the url is automatically opened in a new window (with all the browser menu-bars, icons and options enabled etc..).  This isn't a great experience for the end user and spoils the fluidity of the application.

 

My next attempt was to write a redirector that opened the form in a new browser window with all menu options and status bars  removed.  This created the window correctly but then the standard embedded jscript threw errors when the form initialised

 

Does anyone have any other helpful ideas of what can achieve this?
