Changing databases
This used to be so very easy. 1 Registry setting in version 5. @ in version 6 & 7, or just select the ODBC DSN from a list in the admin tools.
In version 9: 6 Registry settings, 2 XML files* and a 'Ninja'** ODBC (sung to the tune of 'the 12 days of Christmas).
The documentation tells you that you can do this from the admin tools. Just register the server, right-click on the engine and select 'database'. I can't see any 'database' option.
* In W7 64 you have to use notepad in 'run as administrator' mode to save these files at all
** In W7 64 the ODBC created by the DSN is not viewable or editable in the ODBC dialog. You have to know where to find it in the regsirty to change it. If you create a new one, the engine fails with "Cannot open database connection - DSN=Metastorm1;UID=sa;PWD=**********; Reason: The specified DSN contains an architecture mismatch between the Driver and Application.".
