Strange behavior in attachment component

Hi,

 

I have noticed that a pdf file attached to a metastorm folder always gets the name "ReadAttachment.pdf" when it is downloaded and saved locally. It should keep its original name. Does anyone know why this happens?

What specific version of BPM are you using? Multiclip? Singleclip?

Metastorm BPM 9.1.0 and we are using multiclip.

So, mine appears to be saving correctly. It looks like something else is going on. Is this oracle or SQL? I tested on Windows 2008 32bit w/ BPM 9.1.0.0 running SQL 2008 Enterprise

Hi Dan!

I also get this strange eReadAttachment.xyz, I am using version 9.1.3 Hotfix 2 but the problem is the same i version 7.6.

Let me explain my scenario when I get the wrong filename but the correct extension.

 

If you get the prompt that is asking if you wan't to open,save or save as when downloading the file then the correct filename is used if you chooses the save option.

If you select Open and the file is opend in the associated program and then selects Save as, then the filename is incorrect.

ex. Save as from Excel filename becomes "Copy of ReadAttachment.xls"

 

 and from Word the filename is "ReadAttachment.doc" and save as from Adobe acrobat the filename is

"ReadAttachment.pdf".

 

Haven't anyone else noticed this problem? As I said the problem is in version 7.6 to.

 

Another problem (which is not a Metastorm problem) I have is that I don't get the Open,Save or Save as prompt when I try to download a PDF attachment. Both IE9 and Firefox.

I have tried to search the internet on how to switch this prompt on but I have not found any good solution/answer that I get to work. :-(

Does anyone have a suggestion?
