Date defaulting

I want the date field to trigger calculated date every time a value on a text field is changed. Right now i have assigned the field with a value from a grid,the if else condition does not recognize that the value on the field has changed ,when the text field value is changed upon selection of the grid, the date field does not recognize that the value has changed.

I need the date field value to change everytime the value of the text field is changed upon grid row selection.
