Source content (base server)

Hi,

Will be possible to make your source content not your base OD server?
Basically I have another server which have the content but I don't have base server in that machine. Will be possible to use the existing base server?
here's the scenario.

Server 1.
contains some data

Server 2.
installed the base server

Server 3
installed receiver.

At the moment we are deploying files from Server 2 to Server 3, this works fine no problem. Now Server 1 comes to picture we need to deploy files to Server 3. My question now, will be possible to use base server of Server 2 and make Server1 as source content? Or Install base server in Server 1?

Please advise for best approach.

You at least need to have some kind of OD server(base or receiver) on server1.
Ideally having OD base on server1 is nice.but if you dont want to do that then another approach can be to have OD receiver on server1 and do reverse deployment from server2 to pull contents from server1 and push it to server3.

I can do schedule deployment then in Server 1.

You don't mention the environment this is supposed to work on. If it's Windows, you can map the drive on which your content resides in server 1, onto server 2. That way, you can tee off deployments to server 3 or any other OD receiver on your network without the need for additional OD installations.
