Will diagnostic log files eventually fill up my hard drive?

Answer:
One of the really nice features of Execute360 is the extensive diagnostic and tracing logging that is produced by the services. All diagnostic files are designed to "roll over" to several backup files. After the configured number of backup files have accumulated, the oldest one will delete when the next rollover event occurs. You can regulate the size of the diagnostic files, how many backups there should be, and where to save the diagnostic files in the Server Configuration Utility's Server tab.
Setting values for the Number of rollover files and Maximum log file size will effectively limit the growth of diagnostic files in the Log files directory.
That being said, there is a reason for concern. The Log files directory is also used for exported LOG table purge files. Every day, the LOG table is purged of aged transaction records, and the purged records are exported (by default) to the Log files directory. These will accumulate over time, and can become quite large. These files are named LOG.DEL and ADM.DEL. The LOG*.DEL files are an export of the purged RouteEngine and Object Manager transactions. The ADM*.DEL files are an export of the purged User Administration transactions (requires hotfix 10.5.1).
You can prevent export of purged records by deselecting the "Export" checkboxes in the Administration Website's Properties page:
If you do want to export purged LOG table records, you'll need to periodically clean up the old *.DEL files. You can automate this by using the CLEAN utility (refer to the Utilities manual for more information). Simply create a batch script using CLEAN and use the Task Scheduler to run it every day.
The Log files directory is also used for Reconciliation reports (v9.21 and r10) and System Object exports (r10 only). By default, these tasks are manually invoked. However, if you've created customized Management Component tasks that run Reconciliation or do System Object exports on a daily basis, you should verify that adequate disk space is available for the reports.
