Case360 Administrator Job Description

By Abrice

I wanted to ask if anyone knew of a Case360 Administrator job description or list of duties performed only by the Administrator and not a Developer. I checked the support site with no luck so I thought I would ask the Community for their help.

Thanks, in advance!

That’s a good question, I’ve never really thought about it.

Just off the top of my head, the responsibilities of a Case360 administrator could/would include:

    • Managing storage resources – make sure that the filestore storage plans are not filling up. Arrange for and configure additional storage capacity as needed.

    • Managing database (usually handled by a DBA) – making sure that the database server has enough disk and monitoring CPU usage levels.

    • Managing CPU capacity – making sure that the CPU consumption on the servers making up the server farm stay below reasonable limits . Arrange for and configure additional servers as needed.

    • Monitor server logs – look for exceptions that may indicate problems

    • Manage Security – while most C360 systems rely on an external authentication system, some do not and the administrator will need to add/remove users. Even those that do, often use application specific data with users based on their roles.

    • Application specific needs – many applications have tables that need to be maintained (e.g. BugTrack had the list of products and components that needed to be kept up to date)

Probably not a complete list, but it’s a start.
