Here are the steps for running a simulation:

1.  Define the simulation scenario.
2. Define resources, including roles, people, systems and time.
3. Define activities, including duration and performers.
4. Define arrival patterns for work items, including frequency and volume.
5. Run the simulation and review the results.
6. Adjust simulation values to optimize the results, then rerun the simulation.
