Purpose of the hotfix:

 

This hotfix addresses the following issues:

 

• All forms closing after chained action on high performance machine. (Metastorm\# SR-04262012-0019, DEF20360) 

Implications of the hotfix and other considerations (when upgrading from 9.1.3.1):

 

• If the system has Microsoft Windows Installer version 4.0 or later installed, and Metastorm BPM 9.1.3.1 is the latest hotfix installed, subsequent hotfix installs may fail (setup will suddenly disappear). The failure is reflected in the installation log, located in the %TEMP% directory, with an entry such as:

  PATCH SEQUENCER ERROR: failed to retrieve the upgrade code Minor913ToMinir9131 transform in \{35DB62C6-34C7-4418-8400-DD127CD7454A\} patch takes the product to! (1: 2253 2:  3: SelfReg )

To resolve the problem:

1.   Determine which version of Windows Installer is installed. (Click Start > Run, enter msiexec.exe, and click OK.) If the version is 4.0 or later, continue with the following steps. If an earlier version is installed, disregard the following and install this hotfix.

2.   Determine which Metastorm BPM hotfix is installed using Add or Remove Programs. If Metastorm BPM hotfix 9.1.3.1 is installed, continue with the following steps. If Metastorm BPM 9.1.3 is installed, disregard the following and install this hotfix.

3.   Using Export, make a backup of the following registry key:

HKEY\_LOCAL\_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Installer\\UserData\\S-1-5-18\\Products\\7E0DAF5C656A2E64DA378EE0C0EA5779\\Patches

 

4.   Install the \*.reg file that is included in this hotfix package: 9.1.3.1\_Supersede.reg****.

5.   Apply this hotfix using the installation instructions described below.

 

Implications of the hotfix and other considerations (when upgrading from 9.1.3)****:

 

• Redeploy all solutions for the following fixes to take effect:

o  Tab order of forms with panels in the Web Client does not match with that of the Designer. (Metastorm\# SR-05022012-0002, DEF20161)

o  Deployment does not succeed when a project contains ProcessContext variable in 'Help URL' property of an Administration Form. (Metastorm\# SR-05222012-0005, DEF19812)

 

• To overcome the issue related to Administrative Tools not able to be used in recovery mode when using Oracle as the database (Metastorm\# SR-04262012-0017, DEF20157), follow the steps below:

 

Note: Metastorm BPM Administrative Tools 9.1.3 requires ODAC 4 base x86 and on 64-bit OS also ODAC 4 base 64.

 

1. Ensure that the latest service pack for your Windows OS is installed.

2. Download Oracle Database 11g Release 2 (32-bit and 64-bit for 64-bit OS) - Version 11.2.0.3 from the following link:

 

http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/windows/downloads/index.html

 

You can download either the standard install or the xcopy version.

If you download the xcopy version, on a 32-bit OS, download the following file:

• ODAC112030Xcopy\_32bit.zip

 

If you download the xcopy version, on a 64-bit OS, download the following files:

• ODAC112030Xcopy\_64bit.zip
• ODAC112030Xcopy\_32bit.zip

3. Unzip the contents of downloaded zip files.

4. Restart computer.

5. Ensure that the BPM Engine service is not running.

6. Ensure that Oracle services are not running.

 

7. On a 32-bit OS, perform steps 8 to 10 below for unzipped ODAC112030Xcopy\_32bit.zip.

    On a 64-bit OS, first perform steps 8 to 10 below for unzipped ODAC112030Xcopy\_64bit.zip and second for ODAC112030Xcopy\_32bit.zip

8. Go to the command prompt and change the directory to the folder where the zip file contents have been unzipped.

9. Execute the following command:

 

      install all \[oracle\_home\_path\] \[oracle\_home\_name\]

 

               For example:

 

install all C:\\app\\administrator\\product\\11.2.0\\client\_1 OraClient11g\_home1

10. Installation will proceed without any messages.
