Copy or Migrate?

Hi All,

We have 2 active stores; one which is format of TS 6.1 backing store and second of format 6.7.1 backing store. Now we have identified (after migration) some files which also need to be taken along with to new store.

Now, whether we can copy the files directly from 6.1 backing store to 6.7.1 backing store OR it really needs iwmigrate and iwaccessmigrate to re-run?

Please confirm.

It depends as what kind of files you are missing on new server. In our case we did a copy for some of the missing files (Specially some DCTs and Generated ASPs) and it worked well. We did it for TS 6.5.

What i know, file formatting of TS 6.1 is different as what of TS 6.5/6.7. However i hope someone over here confirms this statement of mine as well.

If you want the history of the file from the 6.1 store in your 6.7.1 store - you basically want to do the iwmigration.

If you just want the file (without it's historical versions) - you can copy it from the branch on the 6.1 store to a workarea in the 6.7.1 store

How some files were missed (not-migrated editions or branch ?)
If it is just the simle case of files in the workArea (which cannot be currently migrated) you can copy them over else you can migrate to the same destination store with the relevant switches. Please elaborate the scenario in detail as there can be some versioning mismatch if you have missed some intermediate editions. Worst case deleting the relevant branch from the destination and migrating again with the desired options would do the trick.
