Grid and "given key not present in dictionary" error

I have a simple form that lists names from a table that has a primary key.  I believe it worked at one time, but have no explanation why its not working now.

 

I display, via a standard BO, the results that meet the criteria in the grid.  If I mark the grid as "has dependents" any row I click gives the "The given key was not present in the dictionary." as shown below.  This occurs whether I have "when clicked" code associated or not so its not the assignment logic itself.  If I uncheck as not having dependents, its not occurring.

 

Its a very simple grid, so not sure what may be causing this.  Any ideas?
