Installing Designer 7.6 on a laptop with 9.2 Installed

Is it possble to install the designer from 7.6 on to a laptop with 9.2 Designer, engine etc. running. I have a VM with the Metatsorm 7.6 environment and Test/UAT/Live servers, but I like to develop locally, preferably outside the VM since it's much faster.

Hey Graham,

I think you can just take a copy of the 7.6 "Designer" directory and run the designer straight from the executable without actually installing it on the laptop.

I tried copying the designer, but it fails to open from an XEP or just the designer.

Is this because the source install in XP pro x86 and the new laptop is Windows 7 x64?

Have you managed to get this to work?

You can download Windows XP mode and run the old v7.x Designers that way-
