Hiding and displaying child objects in published HTML

I have a process model in which a number of objects have components. In ProVision, I can click on the component indicator to display or hide the child objects. However in the HTML published output, this doesn't appear possible.

 

The output diagram shows the child objects that were displayed when I did the publish. I can't display all the child objects before publishing as this would make it unreadable and I can't see how I can have different versions of the model included with different child objects displayed.

 

Is there a way round this?

Hi Alison,

 

My suggestion that I found which can somewhat overcome the problem you mentioned is to use the "layer feature" of process model.

Assuming you have a business domain based classification, I can think of creating a layer for each business domain using "Manage" option and in each layer unrecruit the objects which are not needed using "Recruit" option and hide the non-members using "Settings". Then you can rearrange visible members in that layer for best size fit. You can have a layer per business domain based on the number of children below it.

But note that in the main process modeler you should have the entire structure expanded upto its leaves and the rearrangement made in the layers may make it unreadable. This is the drawback I could see.

 

I am eager to hear to about other better options available.
