Drop down box in editable grid loses value

We are experiencing an issue with solutions accessed through Internet Explorer 9 in that when a user attempts to select a value from a drop down box in an editable grib the value is not retained. Also if a user attempts to edit an existing entry the value reverts to its previous value. The solution works in Safari and Chrome but not IE9.

 

Any assistance would be appreciated as it is looking as though we will need to potentially redesign all the forms and move away from editable grids.
