Ports in TIME_WAIT or CLOSE_WAIT mode

Hello,

We recently upgraded to TS 6.7.1 SP1 (Windows 2003) and at around the same time, the following Microsoft security patches were applied to the operating system on the server.

Q944653 - MS07-067
Q941568 - MS07-064
Q941569 - MS07-068
Q942615 - MS07-069

Since then, we are having performance/stability issues with the TeamSite as well as OpenDeploy services. We looked at the network connection list on the server and it has hundreds of ports open to itself that are pending closing, or time wait, etc... but not closed. It looks like the application has opened connections to itself and leaves them open. When that happens the system starts running out of available connection memory and starts having these performance/stability issues.

I have attached the output from "netstat -an" that lists the active connections and has a number of connections that are in wait mode.

Is there a solution to fix this problem?

8898 is default Hopi RPC Port. There were couple KB articles regarding Windows 2003 Hopi security policies and IWServer settings.
If I were you, I would get to Support Search, type "hopi" and start reading...
