ECM Everywhere Document Viewing

Hi guys,

Quick question: How does Everywhere App shows document (e.g. doc, xls). Where is the documented rendered (to what format?). Is that all built-in within the app or ..? Does it matter what I have installed on my iPhone (what 3rd party document applications)
If I want to view dwg file through Everywhere App, what do I need?

Hi Uldis,

I am assuming this is Everywhere for Content Server.

Documents are rendered by DCS (Document Conversion Service). From the Content Server Web UI, If you can see the rendeed document from "View as web page" with no issue, it should be fine in Everywhere. Although I have not tested dwg specifically. It does not matter 3rd party document that you installed in you iPhone.

Document previews are based on a combination of the viewer technology available on the device, and some server side viewing technology that can be configured for ECM Everywhere. For iOS specifically, common formats (Word, Powerpoint, PDF, images) will use the on-device viewer to display the documents on your device.

For some formats such as DWG and EML where there is not a native viewer component available, a server side viewer will render and provide a view of the document. This component is included with ECM Everywhere, and is configured when you install the App Bundle into AppWorks.

NOTE:

Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable. This must be installed on the AppWorks Gateway system for rendering Email and CAD drawings. To download the redistributable package, visit Microsoft Download Center (http://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/download/details.aspx?id=2092).
