Tomcat localhost:8080 not available

I have installed Appworks gateway. When going to localhost:8080/gateway, I get in fine but when I go to localhost:8080, I get the message 'Http Status 404 - The requested resource is not available', this was working before appworks. Is it normal to get this message?

No that is not normal, could you share screenshots of the tomcat folder and tomcat/webapps folder?

You may want to try using the machine's local IP address rather than localhost.

I just noticed that on one of my installs I have the same issue. The original Tomcat page ("successfully installed") is no longer available. A fresh install of Tomcat 7.053, followed by the AppWork Gateway, corrected this.

Was Tomcat stopped when you installed the AppWorks Gateway?

If you monitor the Catalina.out and tomcat std error logs when you start up tomcat do you see any useful errors ?

Also what do you have in tomcat-home/webapps/ROOT folder

I am also having same issue but what i notice that if i upload any zip file with underscore then appwork gateway will break and next time whenever i login to http://localhost:8080/gateway getting 404 error message. I open bug against that. If you already upload any zip file with underscores then uninstall tomcat Apache and install again will resolve the problem
