How to set creation date to an past date?

Hi Folks,

Can we set creation date of a case to a past date with ReSTFul API?
I'm creating a case with ReST API and it doesn't have any provision to pass values for a creation date. wondering if this is possible with any other API in ReSTful web services. Appreciate any help or pointer!

I am afraid that you cannot. You may find it impossible when trying to do it with other APIs too. The creation date is one of the properties trusted for auditing purposes, which should not be tampered with.

If you have a date property, which is important, like the original creation date of a scanned paper document, you may find easier to store it in a category attribute.

But have noticed that, with CS import tool you can set the creation date to an different date. any idea?

If you mean the Object Importer, I don't know the tool so well. You may need to experiment with different tools.
