Search does it works for Editions?

We have requirements to search functionality to search particular word in current file and in previous versions or Editions.

Does the inbuilt search engine provide the required information?

I tried but the results are not as required.

Any information would be helpful.

Products: TS 6.7.1 Search/Index

Any pointers would be great help.

So you are asking if Edition 1 of foo has BLAH and I remove it in Version 2-26, that you want to search for BLAH and get the appropriate version ? I do not think that will work

However if you want to go to Edition 1 and search for BLAH it will work.

Yeap I can find the search , if I navigate to particular Edition. If I need to search in all previous edtion without going to individual edition, do I need to customise the search?

Looks like that functionality is not available. I did a search, removed he data, submitted and searched again. Even though it was in an edition, search did not find it.

You can file a FR with IWOV but I would think it is highly unlikely to see the light of day as it would be confusing for many people.

Your best bet would be to write a front end to the search engine using the CSSDK
